Kurt Meyer owns and operates Meyer Genetics, a premier cattle operation dedicated to breeding and developing high-quality show and breeding stock. Based in Onarga, IL, Meyer Genetics is recognized for its commitment to producing functional and competitive cattle that have achieved success at both state and national levels. Each fall, the program hosts its annual sale, offering elite heifers to customers across the country, along with selling bred heifers, bulls, and other elite genetics throughout the year.

Kurt attended Lake Land Junior College before transferring to Western Illinois University, where he earned a degree in Agricultural Business. After college, he worked as the Show and Sale Cattle Manager for Hartman Cattle Company, gaining valuable experience in managing elite show cattle and high-profile sales. He is currently a marketing consultant for show and sale cattle at Prairie View Farms (PVF) Angus, where he continues to help promote and develop Angus cattle.

Throughout his career, Kurt has had the opportunity to evaluate top-tier cattle across the country. In 2024, he was honored to judge the Bred and Owned Show at the Simmental Junior Nationals. He has also judged numerous other shows at both the state and local levels.

Beyond the cattle business, he is a proud father to twin boys, Drew and Eli, who share his passion for livestock.
